My first post for Louisville.com is online

In addition to my new job as a budget travel writer for Examiner.com, which I mentioned earlier, I’m now reviewing cultural attractions, food, and restaurants in Louisville for Louisville.com.

My first article was posted last week:

January Wine Tastings in Louisville

(The subject matter shouldn’t be a surprise given that wine is one of the most common tags on this site.)

Both of these gigs involve writing a lot of articles (10 a month for Louisville.com, four a week for Examiner.com). Rather than add a new entry to this blog every time my articles are published on those sites, I’ll just compile them into one post a week.

My then-editor, Chris Mohney, was agreeable. Here are my posts from Honolulu:

Writing about Honolulu led to a more enjoyable experience there, as I set about trying to get a deeper knowledge of the city. And while not the most useful post I’ve ever written, The Brady Bunch one was a blast to research.

My latest for Gridskipper: Washington, DC, restaurants with health code violations

If my piece on Alexandria’s best wine values by the glass for Gridskipper was fun to research, my latest entry was not:

DC Restaurants with Health Code Violations

What I found most surprising was that the DC Department of Health doesn’t require vermin to be eliminated, just minimized.

When sampling wines is considered work

Ok, if my piece on Stephen Colbert for Gridskipper was fun to write, my latest entry was fun to research:

Alexandria’s Best Wine Values by the Glass
